ORIGIN BLOODS – TERMS & CONDITIONS

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS & CONDITIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING OUR WEBSITE OR SERVICES.

These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of the Origin Bloods website, online platforms, and blood testing services.

Origin Health Care Group Limited (Company No. 16914475), trading as Origin Bloods, operates in partnership with SJLD Ltd (Company No. 13138487), trading as Urban Health Care, which is registered with and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Blood testing services are provided in partnership with accredited third-party laboratories, including Inuvi Lab, with optional doctor interpretation and clinical oversight delivered through the CQC-regulated provider.

By using our website or purchasing our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions.

1. Information You Provide

You agree that all information you provide to Origin Bloods is accurate, complete, and truthful to the best of your knowledge at the time it is provided.

Where information is supplied from third parties, you confirm that it has been lawfully obtained and has not been altered, misrepresented, or falsified.

You must not alter, amend, or tamper with any clinical documents, laboratory reports, or records generated through our services.

You agree to notify us as soon as reasonably practicable of any changes to:

  • Your legal name
  • Email address
  • Postal address
  • Telephone number
  • Payment details required for active services

2. Electronic Storage of Medical Records

By using Origin Bloods services, you consent to the secure storage and processing of your personal and medical information in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Medical records are retained in line with UK healthcare guidance and may be kept for up to 30 years, depending on the nature of the record.

You may request access to your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Clinical Software

We use Semble.io, a UK-based clinical practice management system, to manage patient records, appointments, correspondence, test requests, and clinical documentation.

Semble.io acts as a data processor on our behalf and processes data in accordance with UK data protection law, using industry-standard security measures.

3. Blood Testing Services

Origin Bloods provides blood testing services which may include:

  • Provision of home finger-prick sampling kits
  • Venous blood draw appointments at third-party clinics
  • Laboratory analysis by accredited external laboratories, including Inuvi Lab
  • Results reporting
  • Optional doctor interpretation and clinical commentary.

Where interpretation or clinical commentary is provided, this is delivered by qualified clinicians operating under the CQC-regulated provider partnership.

Origin Bloods reserves the right to change laboratory or phlebotomy providers where necessary.

Blood test reports are provided for clinical information purposes only and do not replace a full medical consultation, diagnosis, or emergency medical care.

4. Access to Services

To use Origin Bloods services, you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms & Conditions

Origin Bloods does not provide services to individuals under the age of 18.

5. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Where changes are material, reasonable notice will be provided.

Continued use of our website or services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

6. Website and Information Disclaimer

The content on the Origin Bloods website, online platforms, and communications is provided for general informational and educational purposes only.

It must not be relied upon as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

You must not use website content to self-diagnose, self-medicate, or alter prescribed treatment without consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.

If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, you must contact emergency services immediately.

7. Communications (Opt-In)

If you opt in to receive communications, you may receive service updates, newsletters, or educational material.

These communications do not replace professional medical advice.

You may opt out at any time.

8. Acceptable Use and Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use our website or services unlawfully or fraudulently
  • Misrepresent your identity or health information
  • Share test kits or clinical reports with others
  • Interfere with the security or functionality of our systems
  • Upload malicious software or harmful content
  • Make misleading or unsubstantiated health claims

We reserve the right to restrict or suspend access where misuse is identified.

9. Fair Use Policy (Finger-Prick Testing)

Finger-prick testing may occasionally be unsuccessful due to sample quality or collection issues.

Where an at-home finger-prick test fails:

  • One replacement kit will be provided free of charge, or
  • A refund may be offered at our discretion

If a second test fails, a new test must be purchased.

In such cases, venous testing may be recommended, which may incur additional costs due to clinic attendance or nurse visits.

10. Lost Samples in Transit

Where a sample is lost in the postal system or is never received by the laboratory for analysis, Origin Bloods will provide a replacement kit free of charge.

11. Venous Appointments and Missed Appointments

Venous blood draw appointments arranged through Origin Bloods involve third-party clinics and phlebotomy providers.

Once an appointment has been booked, these services may incur costs to Origin Bloods.

If you fail to attend a scheduled appointment, or cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, the appointment will be deemed missed.

In such circumstances:

  • No refund will be issued
  • A new appointment must be booked and paid for in full

This policy applies unless otherwise agreed in advance in writing.

12. Payments and Merchant Services

Payments for blood test kits, appointments, and interpretation services are processed securely via third-party payment providers.

Origin Bloods does not store or process card details directly.

We currently use providers including Stripe, Revolut Merchant Services and GoCardless, who operate in accordance with PCI DSS and applicable financial regulations.

By making a payment, you agree to the payment provider’s own terms in addition to these Terms.

13. Complaints and Disputes

Complaints are handled in accordance with our Complaints Policy, available on our website.

Complaints relating to clinical care will be escalated to the appropriate CQC-regulated clinical staff.

Complaints must be submitted via email.

14. Privacy Policy

Your use of Origin Bloods services is subject to our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions.

15. Third-Party Rights

These Terms & Conditions are between you and Origin Bloods only.

No third party has any rights to enforce them.

16. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales shall have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

17. Contact

We may contact you using the details you provide.

We aim to respond to electronic written communications within 48 hours on working days.
